The eagerly awaited full-length trailer for “Ramayana” has finally arrived and now the audience can get their best shot yet of the transformation of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama in the film. The recently unveiled trailer gives a first look at Kapoor in a variety of moments of his character’s journey – from a royal dress to simple, garish clothes while he’s in exile.
The film’s epic scale of visuals is also graced by a dramatic forest confrontation with an ogre, and a more subdued scene by the waterfall. In addition to Kapoor, the trailer also announces the presence of Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, and hints at Yash’s terrifying appearance as Ravana on his Pushpak Vimana.
The two-part epic is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, produced by Prime Focus Studios, DNEG and Monster Mind Creations, and will feature a host of actors, including Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari. The film’s score is composed by 2 international giants, Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, lending more star power to the ancient Indian epic.
It is scheduled for release in Diwali 2026, with Part 2 coming out in Diwali 2027 and it will be produced for IMAX screens. The trailer has already ignited a lot of controversy online as people grew more excited about the film, with some questioning the casting, even as anticipation mounted for a billion-dollar mythological retelling.
