Storyline of Drishyam 2
The plot of Drishyam 2 takes place 6 years after the events of Drishyam. Georgekutty and his family are living peacefully but the past haunts them. Inspector General Thomas Bastin is still determined to get the truth out about what really happened to Varun.
Georgekutty now owns a small theater and a cable TV business. His elder daughter Anju is in her final year of college while his younger daughter Anu is in high school. One day, Varun’s mother Saritha comes to meet Georgekutty and pleads for the truth about her son’s disappearance. She threatens to go on a hunger strike if she doesn’t get answers.
Georgekutty refuses to divulge anything which angers Saritha. She starts a hunger strike in front of Georgekutty’s house. This garners media attention and support from locals. Thomas Bastin sees this as an opportunity to reopen the case. He comes down to investigate and interrogates Georgekutty’s family and employees.
Bastin’s investigation leads him to a new witness – a man named Baiju. He claims that on the night of Varun’s disappearance, he saw Varun at a bar with Anju. This contradicts Georgekutty’s statement from 6 years ago. Bastin arrests Anju for perjury. Georgekutty must now save his daughter while protecting his family’s secret.
